I realize we are far from alone in presenting you with a holiday gift guide. If you’re anything like me, I don’t even read these anymore because one, I’m overwhelmed with information overload and two, they all feel like they’re just swimming with sponsored content.
So instead, I present to you a list of various things from our clients, who we love! These are all products Creative Fold worked on in some way, shape, or form. If you want to learn more about what we did for each, visit our Portfolio page.
Best Party Game For A Multi-generational Family & Friends Gathering
SongFest By Xperience Games LLC
SongFest is a hoot. I’ll let you in on a deep, dark secret. I’m not really a popular music person. I don’t know band names, don’t really care if I see live shows, and as a kid I always turned off All That (the Nickelodeon version of SNL, for those that didn’t watch) when the band came on at the end.
But I LOVE SongFest. It makes me realize I know more than I think, just through being a person alive in the world. If you’re like me, you’ll be happy to see you might actually know something about music. And if you’re a music buff, well then this is an obvious choice.
Best Luxury Game For Lovers of Art and Minimalist Design with Spacious Coffee Tables
Otrio: Inventor’s Edition By Brady Peterson
This is a fun connection. Brady, the inventor of Otrio, initially launched this incredible game at Marbles: The Brain Store in 2015. A handful of our past and current team members worked together at Marbles…in fact, that’s how we met! Now the game is sold through Spin Master but Brady sells this special Otrio: Inventor’s Edition through his own website.
Otrio is the perfect gift for that hard-to-please person on your list. It’s gorgeous with eye-catching design and the play is simple to explain but complex enough to last a lifetime.
Best For Active Children with Fine Taste and An Insatiable Appetite for Turning Everything into Balls to Hit Wooden Mini Golf by Mastermind Toys
My son, who will be three in January, turns absolutely everything even remotely ball-shaped into a ball. Anything in the realm of bat/club/hockey stick gets turned into something to whack with. We aren’t a family of sports fans, so this comes as a surprise, but from day one he’s been very clear about his goals - everything is a ball/puck/bat/club.
Rather than resist, I’ve decided to embrace it. And I’m sick of all the crappy plastic sports equipment for kids. We had a plastic golf set that broke in about two seconds. If we’re going to have it around (and I’ve come to terms with that being a reality) then I want beautiful things. This set is beautiful, made of wood, and fits into a more muted color aesthetic.
Best For Keeping Older Kids and Teens Occupied Instead of Staring Mindlessly At Their Phones
Spiderweb: Bug Catching Logic Game by ThinkFun
Who doesn’t love rubber bands? In this single-player logic game, rubber bands get stretched across the board to trap bugs and solve each challenge. So fun!
I coordinated many rounds of playtesting for this product and it was a joy to see faces light up as kids figured out how the game worked. There’s something so compelling about the tactile experience provided by Spiderweb. Hopefully it will remind your child/niece/friend/grandson of the wide world of hands-on play that exists outside of technology.
Best For All the Many, Many Dog Lovers in Your Life
Barley’s Biscuits by Gateway to Learning
Collaboration is the name of the game with Barley’s Biscuits from Gateway to Learning, an organization that creates opportunities for adults with intellectual disabilities and developmental challenges to obtain everyday skills. A local brewery on Chicago’s Malt Row offered to provide the Gateway to Learning kitchen with spent grains from beer making and these delightful biscuits were born.
But wait, there’s more! In addition to benefiting a good cause, these dog biscuits are delicious, natural, and made with only four ingredients. As they say on their website, “share your passion for a hoppy brew, or biscuit, with your furry friend.”
Happy Holidays from all of us at Creative Fold! We hope you find what you’re looking for this holiday season. May it bring you time to reflect on 2024, celebrate with loved ones, and look ahead to the coming year with hope.
